Sr. R&D Manager
Why I'm a JPAL
Entrepreneurs are the engine that moves the world forward. I value the opportunity to share my extensive experience and knowledge to mentor and assist entrepreneurs. I've always been a good listener and that provided me with opportunities to learn and encounter a diversity of perspectives. I am sure that while advising or mentoring a new company, I'll be learning from them as well, and I am looking forward to such symbiotic interaction.
I lead the development of new product innovation for Acclarent R&D. We focus on development of surgical and minimally invasive navigable devices for the ENT space. In that capacity my team launched an innovative surgical navigation system for Head and Neck surgeries, and multiple types of surgical devices that work with it. Some disposable and some re-usable. I am a part of the R&D strategic innovation planning team, and I lead cross functional teams to execute the development projects, as well as identify new opportunities through close interaction with customers. Before Acclarent I worked at Biosense Webster Inc (BWI). I joined BWI as a System engineer in 2004. In that capacity I was responsible for the development of several features and components of the CARTO Navigation System, and the development of calibration tools for BWI navigation catheters, used in the cardiac catheter production lines. Later on, I established a department in Biosense Webster that developed multiple Cardiac Ablation Systems. As part of that, I was responsible for the SMARTABLATE Ablation System from conception to launch in all markets world wide. I earned my BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997 from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), and an MBA from the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, in Israel. I have a project management certification and I have a strong system engineering background and diverse experiences in research and development. I began my career at Intel in Haifa, Israel, and was later an officer in the IDF where I lead a technical team.
