I'd like to support all our innovation efforts at Johnson and Johnson.
Jarrat is the Immunology Therapeutic Area Lead at the Johnson & Johnson Innovation Center in Boston. In this role, he brings his passion to continue to grow the Immunology academic and industry network in the Boston area and in other innovation hubs across eastern North America contributing to the creation and implementation of the Immunology Therapeutic Area external innovation partnership strategy and portfolio. Jarrat has held multiple roles at Johnson & Johnson since 2004. Most recently, he was a group leader in Immunology Biomarkers supporting the development of several assets in the portfolio including Ustekinumab and Tremfya for rheumatology indications. Prior to joining Immunology Biomarkers, Jarrat was the research lead and a founding biologist for Estrela, a Johnson & Johnson internal venture. In this role, he helped to successfully progress a novel lupus compound from preclinical development to a proof of mechanism trial. Before this, Jarrat led or supported many projects in Immunology Discovery and Infectious Diseases. Jarrat’s innovative research has earned him three Johnson & Johnson R&D Innovation Awards, and two Philip B. Hofmann Research Scientist Awards, along with multiple patents and peer-reviewed publications in the fields of Microbiology, Innate Immunity and Toxicology. Jarrat currently is an external advisory board member for the Colton Center for Autoimmunity at New York University. He received his PhD in Microbiology from the University of Georgia at Athens where he studied bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions.
