Why did you choose science as a career?
I've been interested in science and the ability to translate science into healthcare for as long as I can remember. My undergraduate background is science-based, though I also developed an interest in business - leading me to pursue an MBA. I've worked at the intersection of science and business throughout my career, first at a healthcare investment bank - then at Gilead Sciences, and now at an inspiring new gene editing company - Trucode.
Why are you passionate about what you're working on?
Our technology has the potential to cure genetic diseases in a highly targeted, easily administered in vivo manner - it's an incredibly motivating mission to be a part of!
What is one piece of advice you’d give to young women in the life science sector?
Be confident and power pose! (nb: see Amy Cuddy TED talk for details on power pose)
