Why did you choose science as a career?
There are so many fascinating elements to this world of ours that we have yet to understand or fully appreciate. Science is my tool of choice to investigate these exciting and novel concepts through the integration of curiosity and knowledge into a fulfilling career.
Why are you passionate about what you're working on?
At Siolta Therapeutics, we develop live microbial therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory diseases, such as asthma. My passion for this work stems from both our unique ecological perspective of human health and our bold vision of transforming healthcare in a way that values prevention of disease in addition to treatment. I have no doubt that the successful application of these two concepts into the human health landscape will benefit many generations to come.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to young women in the life science sector?
Find your passion, inject your strength, fill your gaps, and have fun along the way, simple right! I jest, in actuality there is no doubt that science is hard. Thus, make sure you enjoy the process of exploring, failing, and learning because the final outcome is unknowable.
