Why did you choose science as a career?
I was always passionate about helping women who are suffering from breast cancer and felt that research would be the best way to reach as many people as possible. We are developing a new breast cancer therapy will have a profound ripple effect, in that, it will help women here at home as well as in far reaching countries around the world.
Why are you passionate about what you're working on?
I watched my Grandmother go through breast cancer treatment and sadly I witnessed my sister-in-law die from it- at a Very young age. It was heartbreaking to see our own family impacted so deeply by this disease and it inspired me to make a difference.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to young women in the life science sector?
Never give up, even when people try and take you down. It is really important to have an unwavering belief in yourself and to know that you are capable of anything you put your mind to. Women are also great team builders and that cannot be underestimated.
What are you most proud of?
The amazing team we have built.
