Edward F. Amer | Partner, Goodwin Procter
Ed Amer, a counsel in Goodwin's Private Equity Group, represents private equity and venture capital firms, investors and private companies in a broad range of business and financing transactions. His practice focuses primarily on private equity acquisitions and dispositions, venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, start-up company counseling and general corporate representation. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Mr. Amer worked as a lighting technician in the motion picture industry.

Scott Orchard | Senior Counsel, Johnson & Johnson
Scott is Senior Counsel at Johnson & Johnson resident at the Johnson & Johnson Innovation Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During his four years at J&J, Scott has been engaged in the full range of strategic transactions on behalf of J&J’s pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer healthcare businesses, including options to license or acquire technology, R&D collaborations, sponsored research and venture capital investments. Previously, Scott was employed by major New England based law firms, advising public and private companies and private equity and venture capital firms on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, restructurings and other strategic and commercial transactions. Scott also has extensive experience counseling early stage companies and angel investors.

Steven A. Wilcox | Partner, Ropes & Gray
Steve, founder and former chair of the firm’s life sciences practice group, focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing transactions (including public offerings and venture capital investments) and licensing and collaborations. Most of his clients are engaged in the biotech, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. In addition to transactional work, he regularly counsels companies on a range of federal securities and corporate governance matters. Steve has been counsel to some of the world’s leading companies including Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Fresenius, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Millennium, Pfizer, Schering-Plough, Smith & Nephew and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
