Vijay Murthy, Ph.D | Principal Venture of Investments, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JJDC Inc.
Vijay is a Principal of Venture Investments at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JJDC. Inc. (JJDC) and is based in the Johnson & Johnson Innovation Center in California. Vijay focuses on venture investments in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics. Prior to joining JJDC, Vijay was a Director of Ventures & Early-Stage Collaborations at AbbVie, where he focused on venture investments and preclinical business development transactions. Prior to AbbVie, Vijay was co-founder and CEO of an early-stage peptide manufacturing company, and an independent consultant to several top-tier life sciences venture capital firms and biopharmaceutical companies. Previously, Vijay led business development at Enlight Biosciences, a seed-stage venture creation firm founded by PureTech Health and partnered with 7 major biopharmaceutical companies. He started his business career as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Vijay earned an MA and a PhD in biophysical chemistry from Harvard University, and a BS in chemistry with highest honors and highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
