PHILADELPHIA, PA June 4, 2019-- Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS  announced today at the 2019 BIO International Convention in Philadelphia, PA that Philadelphia-based Chip Diagnostics, a diagnostic device company, has been selected as the awardee in the JPOD @ Philadelphia QuickFire Challenge. The Challenge was designed with the aim to accelerate healthcare innovation and commercialization in the Philadelphia ecosystem and beyond. Kate Merton, Head of Johnson & Jonson Innovation - JLABS @ NYC, Boston and Philadelphia made the announcement at Johnson & Johnson’s booth on the Philadelphia Convention Center floor.

 

As the awardee of the JPOD @ Philadelphia QuickFire Challenge, Chip Diagnostics will receive a total of $30,000 in grant funding to further advance its research in minimally invasive, early cancer detection, one year residency at Pennovation at the University of Pennsylvania, and access to educational programs at JPOD @ Philadelphia and mentoring from the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies global network of experts.

 

The QuickFire Challenges are managed by Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS, with the aim to address today’s greatest health care challenges. JLABS facilities have incubated more than 420 companies to date, advancing biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer and health tech programs across all JLABS locations: New York City; San Diego; San Francisco; South San Francisco; Boston; Lowell, MA; Houston; Toronto; Beerse, Belgium; Shanghai opening in 2019; and Washington, D.C. opening in 2020.
