JLABS, which will open in early 2016, will bring educational and networking opportunities, said Melinda Richter, head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS. It will also provide infrastructure for start-ups, including office, research, and laboratory space, as well as funding.
“We continue to be solicited by innovation clusters with incredible depth of research, talent, and capital,” Richter said. “What we found in Houston was world-class research, a depth of talent, creative funding mechanisms, and a gofor- gold spirit. That to us clinched the deal.”
