I've always sought out opportunities to impart a positive impact throughout my career in academia, clinical research, management or clinical care; the opportunity to support the proliferation of new ideas/opportunities that may help shape the future of healthcare was truly irresistible.

Bio

Dr. Andrew Pilon is a Senior Director of New Ventures/Transactions for Johnson & Johnson and works out of the San Francisco Innovation Center. Andrew leads the identification and sourcing of early stage innovation, the subsequent shaping, and execution of transactions opportunities across Johnson & Johnson in the areas of vitreoretinal drugs/devices, ophthalmic surgery innovations and contact lens technologies. Andrew is a former practicing optometrist, clinical researcher and strategic advisor to several pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the vision care space. He has a broad range of deal experience in the eye care space including joint development, licensing and M&A transactions that span pre-revenue, growth and mature asset stages. Andrew holds a Doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed his residency at the Illinois Eye Institute. He has held clinical and didactic appointments at various ophthalmic institutions throughout the US which have allowed him the opportunity to author numerous peer-reviewed publications and be an invited lecturer to his peers. He has also served as a clinical investigator on range of investigational trials in both the medical device and pharmaceutical space. Andrew is committed to using his experiences to advance innovation, improve clinical outcomes and advance patient care within the vision care space.
