Why I'm a JPAL
I love making connections with people and ideas, and learning about novel technologies and approaches that could influence trial design and drug development and ultimately improve lives.
I began my career as a primary/elementary school teacher before going on to become an Educational Psychologist. In this context, I worked with schools, teachers, parents as well as young people through a consultative and problem solving approach, applying psychological research into educational practice. This involved assessment and intervention for children with neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and ADHD. A family move from the UK to the US in 2013 lead to a change in focus and an opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge to the development of outcome measures for ASD. Initially as a contractor and now as an employee at Janssen, I have worked to develop behavioral rating scales.
