Janssen Digital Solutions QuickFire Challenge

Janssen Digital Solutions QuickFire Challenge

Challenge ended

Residency, Mentoring and Pitch coaching

Overview

Driven by a desire to prevent disease, Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, facilitated by Johnson & Johnson Innovation, together with the Paris Brain Institute (“ICM”); is launching the Janssen Digital Solutions QuickFire Challenge, inviting EMEA-based companies[1] to submit technologies and solutions with the potential to scale for impact across EMEA within the next five years.

The five innovators with the most promising ideas will receive residency at the iPEPS incubator for nine months - inclusive of support that aims to help health tech startups accelerate their growth and reach scale across EMEA - as well as mentoring and coaching from Janssen[2] with access to commercial expertise and connections. Finalists will also receive pitch coaching from Johnson & Johnson Innovation with the opportunity to pitch live at this year’s AI4health Virtual Conference

What we're looking for

New technologies and potential solutions are needed to help physicians provide personalized care. In areas like cancer, where choosing an effective treatment pathway can be clouded by vast or conflicting data sets, or mental health, where multiple factors can affect the most complex organ in the body. A different perspective could also help unlock the puzzle of auto-immune diseases that plague a patient for life.

So, while the need for new approaches and tools is evident, the road to scalable and sustainable solutions isn’t. The goal of this challenge is to help those already at the cutting edge of innovation get the expertise, resources and support they needed to help maximize their potential of developing new, outcomes-focused solutions

Areas of focus

While personalized care has long been an ambition of many healthcare companies, truly meaningful advances have been rare. The Janssen Digital Solutions QuickFire Challenge aims to change this by rising to meet two main challenges:

  1. How can we improve treatment initiation with predictive diagnostic models and potential solutions?

  1. How do we create precision treatment management tools that aim to assure safe next-treatment decisions based on biomarkers & contextual data?

Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers and judges on their ability to meet the following criteria:

  • Potential benefit to the patient, Healthcare professionals, Healthcare systems overall

  • Technical quality of the project and the expertise of the team

  • Uniqueness of potential solution & level of competition in the current market

  • The innovative and differentiating nature of the proposed technology or potential solution

  • Alignment to Janssen's areas of strategic focus and expertise

  • Synergies with the overall Janssen strategy

  • Solidity of Medical, Regulatory and Compliance models

Submissions should have proven in-market digital capabilities (MD-certified if relevant) with the ability to adapt to Janssen use cases and the ability to scale for impact within EMEA immediately or within a 5-year time horizon.

  • Residency at the iPEPS incubator for nine-months, which aims to help health tech startups accelerate their growth and reach scale across EMEA.
