Mission Bio, Inc

Mission Bio provides tools for the study of cellular heterogeneity in human health and life science research. Our approach relies on proprietary microfluidic droplet technology to deliver rapid and cost-effective solutions for molecular analysis of single cells. The analysis of single-cells within complex biological systems can reveal critical information not observable from bulk sample analysis. Emerging technologies for single-cell molecular analysis have resolution down to individual cells, but can only analyze at most hundreds of cells. These approaches are not scalable to the throughput levels required by researchers and clinicians studying rare cells and cellular heterogeneity. Mission Bio's core technology provides high throughput multiplex single-cell nucleic acid analysis on a droplet microfluidic platform. PCR-activated cell sorting (PACS) is an initial application of this technology. PACS uses TaqMan PCR reactions to enrich specific cell types from heterogeneous samples based on the presence of nucleic acid biomarkers.
